Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her parents. She is the middle child having one older sister, Natasha Chalke, and one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah's first acting role was in City Boy (1992), an adaptation of a film for television. After her first film she auditioned in 1993 for the role "Becky" of Roseanne (1988). The show was seeking someone to fill in for Alicia Goranson quit the show to attend college. Sarah graduated from high school in 1995 during the filming of the 1994-1995 seasons of Roseanne (1988). Sarah was also in the film with Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). Sarah was also in Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear(1996). In both films Sarah played the role of Krista Wilson and was a cheerleader. Sarah was invited to appear in a television series named Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998), one year after Roseanne (1988). It was based on the TV movie of the same name, Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998), which Sarah was also a part of. Sarah took over the role of Becky on Roseanne (1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. She stated that she would like to quit acting and go to college. [2001] (1993-1997) She played the older sister to Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) However, she's older in real life. In attendance at the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and presented an award for the top single of 1999. (September, 1999) Appeared on local Vancouver stage productions, starting aged 8 years old. She is fluent in French, German and Spanish. She is a volunteer for the hospice which cares for seriously ill children. In her spare time, Chalke prefers cooking with other friends (especially Thai and sushi) playing guitar as well as hiking, skiing (she's an instructor) as well as kayaking, snowboarding and reading. Her father is an attorney, and both of her parents run a child-adoption agency. A couple of years ago she traveled with her parents to China to oversee the adoption of orphans there.
